In 1994, the Cypress family joined New Commission Fellowship, not knowing what God was setting up for the family. Initially, Pastor Cypress worked with the youth and attended to all the church maintenance needs. Then later, he began working as an Lay Minister in the church. Pastor Gary Cypress received an Associate's Degree in Biblical Studies from Family Bible College of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Then in 1999, Elder Cypress was appointed Pastor of the New Commission Fellowship Church. Lady Cypress stood by his side, wearing many hats throughout the past 24 years in support of Pastor Cypress.
He was the overseer of the satellite Faith Bible Institute studies program 2013 through 2016 at New Commission Fellowship. Pastor Cypress has also served on the Havelock Planning Board and supported several Havelock Community Action programs. Pastor Cypress shares his faith in God and is always helping others. He has a history of teaching men to learn to love their wives and support their families. Anyone that knows Pastor Cypress has seen his love and support for the youth and family. He has invested in the lives of several children outside his children, being a father to the fatherless. Pastor Cypress has a huge heart that always gives to anyone who needs help.
